SFUリーダーシップセミナー 7

SFUリーダーシップセミナー,広報】 2018/8/1 水曜日 — 16:48:16

スタンフォード大学リーダーシップセミナーの様子を生徒の日記とともにお伝えします。

DAY 7
I did a presentation about my research in English to everyone including Dr. Colin and Dr. Glenn. I was nervous to do that, and it didn’t go as I practiced. During the presentation, I forgot a part of my script, which I remembered before. After the presentation, Dr.Colin, Dr.Glenn and Dr.Colin’s wife gave me some advice. They pointed out that I should have explained the details and the points which they couldn’t understand. This advice was good for me as I could notice the bad points which I have now and also how to improve my skills. I want to think about those things as soon as possible. They also gave some me good points about my presentation. I felt happy and I want to improve my presentation. I couldn’t answer their questions well, so I want to study English more and improve my listening, understanding the main point, making my opinion quickly, and answering questions. At that time, my teammates did a presentation too. They did it well. I thought they were nice and also I was glad to have Shirui, who was one of the mentors who came to see our presentation. At that time, he gave me advice, and also after I came back to Japan, he gave me some advice from his friends who study solar cells. I met many good people who influenced me. I will try the things which I learned from this program and I want to keep in contact with the people I met at this time. (H. I H1)

It was the last day for us to visit Stanford University. I gave a presentation to two Japanese researchers at Stanford University. It was the first time to present about my research, so I was so nervous. However, the presentation was successful because I had prepared a lot. I realized it was important to prepare in advance. Furthermore, I felt so happy because they told me that my research was interesting, and they gave me some advice. It was a really valuable experience, so I appreciated the many people who gave me this opportunity. I think this experience was meaningful not only for students who presented but also for students who listened to those presentations. I believe everyone gained motivation or self-confidence then. Our program was almost over. Although we felt this program was very short, we’ve built a wonderful and strong teamwork. Therefore, what we got from this program was very big. In our final reflection time, we talked about our own honest feelings. Everyone spoke of their gratitude to each other, and we promised to be great friends from now on too. I was really moved by everyone’s words. This program at Stanford University was pretty wonderful. I’ll never forget the many experiences on this program. I’m grateful to the many people who took care of me like friends, teachers, professors at Stanford University, mentors, parents and so on. Thank you for everything. (N.K H2)
