スタンフォード大学リーダーシップセミナーの様子を生徒の日記とともにお伝えします。

Today was our first day of the YCISL and I think we learned so much!!! In Japan, I think there is a clear line between studying and playing but in other countries like America, I don’t think there is much of a clear line, and I think they are able to connect the two so I thought that was very interesting. By playing games, I think we were able to understand what the teacher was trying to teach us, and at the same time, we were able to have fun and bond as a team. Personally I thought the hardest game was the birthday line up because in the second round, we weren’t able to communicate using our eyes or body language, which is an important part of communication. Even though we feel thankful for many things, because we don’t put them into what we can see, it is difficult to know what and why you are appreciating them so I thought the gratitude photos were something maybe we should continue even when this program is over. Finally, I really enjoyed the sketch your neighbor because I actually did exactly what the teacher said we might do even before he said it. It was also interesting to know the differences between the reactions between the ages. I hope we keep up the great work, and I cannot wait for tomorrow!! (August 2 Y.S)

It felt satisfying and so accomplishing when we finally came up with an innovative idea. I was a bit nervous to work and share my ideas with people I didn’t know very well. However, it didn’t turn out to be just awkward silence. Using post-its made it so much easier to share ideas, even ones I probably wouldn’t write down if we weren’t using them. But the hard part was coming up with really innovative ideas. Like Dr. Collin said, it might sound simple but it’s not easy. And that’s why when we finally got the perfect idea we felt very accomplished. (August 2 S.K)
